I've been reading the Twilight series, and just love Stephenie Meyer's work! Twilight is a dramatic/sci-fi/love story about a girl named Bella. She had just moved to Forks, Wa (a real place) and found herself falling head over heels for a boy in her Biology class named, Edward Cullen. What she didn't know, is that Edward and his adopted family are actually a coven of vampires. Still, Bella has feelings for Edward, and Edward seemed to love Bella just as much. But what part of Bella does he love? Bella herself, or her sweet delicious smell?

The book takes place in forks,WA. A lonely town with s small reputation. Bella, originally from Phoenix, has no idea whats in store for her living with her dad down in this rainy town. She is welcomed to her new high school and finds a strange group of kids. The Cullen family. As a magnet for trouble bellas life turns upside down when she is saved by a Edward (one of the Cullens)from a spinning car out of control. No human could have moved that fast. No human could be that strong. No Human was in the Cullens family. But soon Bella finds a very dangerous secret. "She knew three things. One, that Edward was a vampire. Two, that some part of him wanted to drink her blood. And three, she was completely and unmistakeably in love with him."

Whats happening in twilight so far:

Bella and Edward are now in love and even though Edward thirsts for her blood he can overpower it with his admiration for Bella. As Edward explains more about himself like how he doesn't have to sleep and eat Bella begins to wonder if there are more than the cullens

I am reading the book The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne. Nine year-old Bruno who lives in Germany. His family of mother, father (a commandant for the Nazis, twelve year-old sister Gretel whom he really dislikes, housemaid Maria, and cook Lars move from Berlin to "Out-With" which you realize it actually a very infamous place. At their new home there is a huge fence with a massive amount of huts and people in striped pajamas. One day when exploring, Bruno sees a boy, Shmuel, on the other side of the fence. The two boys befriend each other and Bruno notices many changes in Shmuel and he learns that the era is not what it seems.....

While reading this book, I found myself on numerous accasions nearly in tears. The issues that this book surrounds really gave me another perspective/ side of the story and what a little boy might've not known during the historical events occuring- especially a being from a powerful country labeled as the U.S.'s enemy during WWII. Definately recommend The Boy in the Striped Pajamas as story for ages 11 and up.

Stephenie Meyer, has created another wonderful work of fiction called, The Host. It is a romantic/sci-fi/ adult book that I highly recomend for people who have already read at least one of Stephenie's other work. This is, unlike Twilight, a "Science fiction book written for people who don't like science fiction." Earth has been taken over by aliens called Souls that take over the human’s minds, and use their host’s bodies to make the earth a more “peaceful place.” They have been taking over life forms all across the universe in order to “live new experiences.” When the Souls found earth, they started to slowly invade the minds of criminals, making them turn themselves in to make the world peaceful, but that wasn’t enough for them. Now, only a few humans remain, and they’re in hiding. Melanie, one of the few surviving humans, had gone looking for her cousin when she is caught. Thinking it is her end, she tries at suicide when the souls tried to catch her, but she didn’t escape. Wanderer, a Soul who has lived on nine planets is given Melanie’s body to find any information of the remaining human force. Instead, Melanie fills Wanderer’s mind with memories of Jared, Melanie’s love who still lives in hiding with her beloved little brother, Jamie. Wanderer begins to fall in love with Jared and Jamie from Melanie’s memories, and is put into a complex in weather she should expose them to the Seekers or try to look for them in hopes that they are still alive. They both search in the desert to find the location of the secret hide out where they believe Jared and Jamie are, but fail miserably. Jeb, Melanie’s uncle, has survived and brings her to the hide out where over 35 humans live. In the caves, Wanderer finds Jamie and Jared but is only trusted by a few including Jeb and Jamie. Now, Wanderer is lives with the humans, and is happily nicknamed Wanda. Both Melanie and Wanda now find it their goals to comfort Jamie, try to stay as out of the way as possible, and keep themselves alive, even if it means having to keep themselves away from Jared.

Hey everyone! My sister read the twilight books and loved them. For my OSB I did " You just can't get enough Gossip girl the carlyles." In other words it's the second one of the second series. There is new charectors such as Avery, Owen, Baby, Eddie, Jack, JP, and many more. There are s many conflits in this book. There is some big drama. It's pretty much the lives of really rich teens living in New York fighting over guys and girls. But it is actually really good and it mkes you wan to keep reading. It is by Cecily Von Ziegesar. She also wrote the "it girl" series. The book didn't say when the next one will come out but I hope it's soon!!!!

That book sounds good. I think there is a TV show about it and it looks for older people but the book sounds good. Is it based on a real teenage story?
Thanks for the review M.J.

Hi everyone!
One book I really, really, really enjoyed was called "Perfect" by Natasha Friend. I simply couldn't put it down!

Grief effects all people in so many different ways. If your dad just died, your mom is a mess, your sister is a pill, and you are jealous of the same girl you were since kindergarten, how would you react? For Isabelle, it means developing the dangerous eating disorder bulimia. When Isabelle's sister April, known as Ape Face tattles to Isabelle's a mom, Isabelle is forced to go to "group" (Eating Disorder and Body Image Therapy Group). But to Isabelle's amazement, the prettiest, smartest, most popular girl in school, Ashly Barnum, shows up at group, starting the tight friendship between Isabelle and Ashly. A wonderful tale of friendship, recovery, and discovery, "Perfect" is an amazing read.

Hey.
I've been reading the Uglies series!
It is a Trilogy made up of "Uglies", "Pretties", and "Specials".

All of them are based in the future where there are hover cars, hover boards, Ect.

The main character is named Tally. She is a girl that has always dreamed of becoming 16, because when you turn sixteen you get a surgery and become "pretty", and head over to New Pretty Town. As Tally nears her birthday, ready to become pretty, she encounters a girl named Shay. Shay is exactly the same age as her and is a rebel. She knows of a place beyond the boarders of the city called "Smoke". Smoke is a place where people are free to express themselves and live like how we do today(remember, this is based in the future). Shay wishes never to be pretty and wants to escape to Smoke. Shay leaves but leaves Tally a note with the directions to Smoke that only makes sense to Tally and Shay.

Tally tries to keep going on like a regular Ugly ignoring the note, but when Special Circumstances(a secret government that makes sure everytthing is in order) steps in, they want Tally to go find Shay. Tally refuses to go, but Special Circumstances threatens to never make her Pretty.

Will Tally ever become Pretty?

I recomend these books!
Enjoy!

I've been reading the Maximum Ride series.
Max is a normal 14 year old girl living with her five friends: Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman, and Angel. Well, if you consider being 98% human 2% bird normal. Max and her "Flock" are the result of experiments that grafted avian dna into them when they weren't even born yet. For 10 years, they were painfully experimented on and were kept in cages that weren't even big enough for them to stand up in. The "School" left them claustrophobic, not able to trust anyone, and unmistakably different from other people: they had wings and could fly too. One of the "white coat's" treturous expirements even left Iggy blind. In a place where death would be a gift compared to anything else they could do to you, the School was a living nightmare.
And then, their was Jeb. Jeb saved them from the school, and for 2 years, served as an adopted father to the Flock. He taught them how to fly, fight, and cared for them. But Jeb went missing and after a matter of days, believed him to be dead. Now, Angel has been stolen back by the School, and it's up to Max to save her before it's too late. Maximum Ride the Angel Experiment has all of the components of a good story: adventure, suspence, humor, romance, and mystery that help illistrates an amazing story.

Now I am on the second in the twilight series. New moon is almost and maybe even better than twilight. Its so intense and as you read you begin to connect together a big puzzle in the world of vampires and something new. If you thought vampires were the only dangerous thing out there, than think again! If you have read twilight you must read new moon.

I am reading two books at one time but have to stop to finish my medieval OSB. I will continue reading it after the OSB is over. Any way, the book is called: World War Z by Max Brooks. The entire book is made of interviews asking people where they were and what happened/ there opinion during World war III. Most talk about the years following after a infectious virus broke out and turned the infected into flesh craving corpses that are basically re-animated tissue. It was called The Great Panic and how humans had to push themselves to the edge of extinction to temporarily stop the army of oncoming dead. Survival was only half of The Great Panic, it also showed how governments had to deal with the infestation and where the remaining humans went to spend years in fear. I do not suggest this book to anyone who is timid and/or does not like books with lots of gruesome violence and death.

Hey everybody!
I read a book called "the Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins. I don't think you have heard of it, but it's a bestseller.

Anyway, a REALLY REALLY good book! It has a lot of things in it, adventure, suspense, mystery, humor, and it is very well written.

Set in the future, in wild place of "North America" is the country of Panem. Panem has 12 districts, and one capitol. Each district is enslaved to the cruel capitol, being forced to make a certain good for Panem.

16 year old Katniss Everdeen lives in district 12, the poorest and least liked district. She struggles to keep her small family alive, and is a determined, even a little bitter person.

Every year, the capitolholds the "Hunger Games" a terrible tournement where 24 children are forced to fight to the death, and only one can win. You might have to kill your best friend.

Katnis's fragile young sister is chosen to go, and Katniss rushes to go in her place. Katniss will have to outsmart, outfight, and outrun competeters and obstacles.

Read "the Hunger Games" for an epic story of friendship, bravery, and survival against all odds.
